Even though Argentina is one of the world's top food producers, the organic agricultural production sector has a relatively short history. It started on 1985 as the global need for organic food products are increasing.

Argentina inspects organic farms through the country's Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Nutrition, and the National Agrifood Health and Quality Service.
